Keep a log of errors and see if a pattern emerges. If it does, take steps to eliminate the pattern.<\/p>\n<h2>2) Cross Dock When Possible<\/h2>\n<p>Cross docking is the process of taking goods from an inbound dock and transferring them directly to an outbound dock. You may have to adjust some delivery schedules, but if you can do this, you reduce handling costs and improve customer service.<\/p>\n<h2>3) Reduce Labor Costs<\/h2>\n<p>Automation is one way to reduce labor costs, but it&#8217;s not always an affordable option. One way to reduce labor costs is to reassess the way you store items. Those items you use the most and\/or have the fastest turnaround times should be stored where they are most accessible. Many forklift accessories, too, are designed to reduce the time it takes to perform a task.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>4) Optimize Space<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Narrow aisle (NA) and very narrow aisle (VNA) forklifts were invented for a reason: they allow you to get the most out of your available space.
